"By the pricking of my thumbs/Something wicked this way comes"
from William Shakespeare's Macbeth
Yay! So here I am! Welcome to my
mini-minuscule-bite-sized contribution to the blogiverse. Together we'll
explore all things crafty; of the
arty-knitty-sewing-herby-baking-gardening-creepy-kooky variety, but
particularly with my newly rediscovered obsession with creating. What better
way to share, learn and be inspired than joining the great community that is
blogging?
My current obsession? My 'dark' rag dolls. Drum roll
...please meet Artemisia Noire, Lucretia Luna and mAlice
These girls are going to be a large part of my focus - I can see myself playing with them for a long time to come - and oh what fun we'll have! I'm thinking Halloween costumes, masked balls, historical figures, fairytale characters. The list is endless - but always with their creepy-kooky personalities at the forefront. I'm working on a Halloween dress for mAlice at the moment, replete with a 'Zorro' type mask so her identity may remain concealed, of course. Mayhap a mask for dirty-white rabbit too? I'm thinking about a 'little red riding goth' outfit for Lucretia and some sort of gothy-black-swan-lake tutu for Artemisia. All will be available in Ye Olde Etsy Shoppe . Also in the works some rag doll bookmarks, badges and prints and perhaps some paper dolls too? Then world domination, of course.
Currently reading: The Chalice by Phil Rickman - I'm only new to Mr Rickman's works, but I'm really enjoying them - particularly the Merrily Watkins mysteries. I was put on to his books by the awesome Margaret at Uncle Festers , who also gave me the impetus to share my creations with the world
What's playing in my car: Era Vulgaris by Queens of the Stone Age - amazing as always, Love, love, love Josh Homme
Blog of the day: A Pillow Monster A Day What an amazing artist is Nichol. I love seeing how her creativity has grown and flourished with constant attention. Crafty inspirational!
