New Offering...

A new offering for you all, my new Goddess Dolls. Made of felt (yessss, felt ) with wool embroidered spiral. She's my first one - I'm going to make a few in black with different coloured spirals, then I may make some in different coloured felts, perhaps even some hand dyed colours. And I'll name each one after a particular Goddess, with a card as to her strengths etc. I've shown her with an Apple, sacred to Goddess (and to give an idea of size). What do you think?

Strange Fruit...

Something new!  They're  pin cushions with a built in needle  book, woo hoo! They were  'modeled' on my favourite fruit, The Apple, but alas they are as their name suggests, rather strange fruit, fruit that's gone over to the dark side.... As soon as  I get an idea on how much postage will be they will be off to the Shoppe . Until then, have yourself a very privileged sneak peek:

Pooka Pillows...

It occurs to me I haven't mentioned my Pooka Pillows   . Akasha gets called Pooka from time to time (and Betty Spaghetti, and Missy Moo, and Cackle Butt. I don't know why. And she just gives me a sardonic look that screams "You are soooo immature"). In any case, they came about after I successfully increased my hoard of fabric via the paradise that is E-Bay. I was lining some fabrics up against each other and created a pattern that reminded me of liquorice all sorts (I hate liquorice, and no, hate is not too strong a word), and decided to sew the bits of fabric together. The rest, as they say, his history (her-story). I wanted to make something that was cute, too. It's not all bat caves, gargoyles and tombstones here at Gothbury Manor. Plus I had babies in mind (as is want to happen often these days, cluck, cluck), so cute worked, but the theme had to remain cats and bats. I'm happy with them. And before I pop them in their packaging out to you, lucky buyer, I drop some Lavender and Chamomile essential oil onto them, to help you (or the lucky intended) sleep better! There are dreaming pookas and there are purring pookas. I've got to make more of the 'purring' variety - do bats purr? I'd like to think so.

Pictured above are Ruby, Coco and Scarlett (who's body is made of the same fabric as Artemisia's dress).

I also made a series called Flutterby Dreaming because I had a bunch of lovely butterfly printed fabric:

And this is Thistle and Tansy. You know you want one!
